It’s pest-resistant, drought-resistant, attracts butterflies and is excellent for cutting and drying. Divide your yarrow every 3 to 5 years to sustain vigorous, healthy plants and to increase your own stock. Or share with a friend who has deer problems because deer generally leave them alone!
Phlox is another easy-to-grow perennial that returns reliably year after year. Its fragrant flowers are bound to please you as well as visitors to your garden, including butterflies and hummingbirds. It grows up to 3 feet tall and blooms in mid-summer. Add it to your garden for pollinators, bouquets and a beautifully scented space.
